Why I Started "Vietnam's Signs of Heroes"

Hello everyone!

I recently created a TikTok that perfectly captures my reasoning for starting this project, and I wanted to share it with you all in this blog post.

Why "Vietnam's Signs of Heroes"?

After traveling to over 100 cities in Vietnam, enjoying the amazing food and culture, I noticed something interesting about the street signs. At first, they seemed the same everywhere—just names on signs. But everything changed when I stumbled upon Mỹ Tho, a small city in the Mekong Delta. Here, each street sign comes with a little blurb explaining the name's significance. It was fascinating!

This discovery inspired me to dive deeper. I started reading more signs, translating them, and uncovering the rich stories behind each name. It wasn't an easy journey. I've spent countless hours walking around, dodging traffic, snakes, and stray dogs, all to capture these hidden gems of history. Despite the challenges, it's been incredibly rewarding.
